Thermal Heat for Pest Control

What is Thermal Heat Treatment and how is it used for Pest Control?
A Thermal Heat Treatment is a non-chemical approach to eliminating pests such as bedbugs, cockroaches, termites and other wood destroying organisms. Heated air is used rather than chemicals to eliminate the pest infestation making this a great option for you and your pest control needs. Insects have a “Thermal Death Point” in which they die at temperatures as low as 120 degrees, making them no match for Thermal Heat’s propane heaters that deliver heated air through ducts to the infested area(s). For approximately one hour the temperature of the infested area is brought to approximately 150 degrees then is held until internal wood temperature reaches 130 degrees. Tarps are hung from the eaves to create a thermal barrier and any heat sensitive items are either removed or covered and protected by a special heat sensitive blanket. On average the Thermal Heat Treatment takes between 4-6 hours depending on the size of the job.
Convenience of Thermal Heat Treatment
Forget packing up your family and pets, sealing up all food and countless other tasks in preparation for a fumigation. Factor in the added cost of a hotel where you will have to stay for a few days while the fumigation is completed. With the convenience of Thermal Heat being a one day process there is no need to leave your home at all, saving you money already. Thermal Heat can be used to treat entire structures, attics, walls, ceilings and more. Thermal Heat can also be done Commercially making it a practical option for businesses. Closing for an extended amount of time can mean a huge loss for a company. In some cases the infestation can be confined to a single piece of furniture, using Thermal Heat that single piece can be the only thing that is treated and successfully rid the furniture of infestation before it spreads.
