What could you be doing wrong that is attracting pests into your home? Let’s get into what common household mistakes homeowners make when it comes to pests and how you could be the one opening the door for them and letting them right in.
Here are some things that can attract pests into your home:
WATER - Pests like gnats, silverfish, mosquitoes, and spiders are attracted to moisture and standing water. Having clogged gutters, pipe leaks, bird baths, and other water sources near your home could be attracting pests.
CLUTTER - Pests will not only hide in areas of clutter and trash but will also BREED. Pest can be easily hidden in clutter. Keep areas tidy in and around your home to avoid attracting pests.
FOOD - Cockroaches, rats, and flies among others are attached to food. This includes spills, trash, crumbs, and open food containers. Leaving dirty dishes out can also be a big attraction of pests.
FIREWOOD - This is one for the termites. Firewood combined with moisture is a big attraction of termites.
