Ants are a common pest this month and don’t underestimate these tiny insects, they can actually create quite a bit of damage. Carpenter Ants can damage a wooden structure when they burrow through decaying wood in order to nest.
Tip- Check a structure for moisture and eliminate any areas of moisture or standing water. Damp wood makes it easier for carpenter ants to burrow tunnels through.
Mice and Rats are both pests seen heavily in the month of March. Carrying diseases and causing a rise in allergies, rats are an unwanted pest. They can breed rapidly which is why it is important to treat an infestation as soon as you see evidence of an infestation.
Tip- Mice and Rats enter homes in search for food, and shelter from the cold, wet month. Take a walk around your home and garage, checking window seals and doors for any cracks. Bedbugs hide in small cracks and crevices usually in and around a bed/ bed frame. They tend to stay close to humans as we are their main food source and mostly attack at night while we are asleep.
