The man of Monday’s, you may recognize Mark from his many weeks featured in, “Monday with Mark.” For the month of November Mark provides our one on one interview for “Black Knight’s Meet the Crew.”
In January Mark will be working with Black Knight for 4 years.
Wondering what Mark does specifically for the company? Well, a bit of everything.
“I have pretty much done it all. Crew work, inspections, and scheduling. I even had my own pest control route at one point. Currently, I work on the home repair crew. You can even catch me doing the occasional rodent exclusion.”
I wanted to know what Mark enjoys most about him career at Black Knight Pest Control.
“Getting it right, and HIGH QUALITY of work. I really enjoy when I can walk away knowing that I did the best job I could. When I go to work I want to treat my customer’s home as though it is my own. If I see any changes that need to be made, not only will I tell my client, but I will give them options for solutions.
Being that Mark frequents both Riverside and San Diego County, I wondered if there was a pests that he see more of in either area than the other. Black Knight Termite and Pest Control covers a large area, from the costal San Diego community, and further inland through San Bernardino.
“Not particularly,” he said.
“The regions are pretty similar. If anything, the right quarters, and the ages of the San Diego homes make it more common to see termites. But other than that there really isn’t different pests that you will see in one area over another.”
Next, I asked Mark what he felt set Black Knight Pest Control apart from the other pest and termite businesses?
“The FACT that I can get Jim Pinneo, (owner and founder) on the phone and he is always ready to talk, and not only that but able to meet with any client. Being a small family owned business the founder is still very much a part of the day to day business.”
Of course I had to ask, what pest makes your skin crawl the most?
“Rats! They eat their own dead, and their own poop! Rodents walk in their feces. They are so small they can get into any room of your home without you knowing. They are absolutely disgusting!”
I definitely knew Mark’s stance when it came to rats after his passionate response.
Short and long term goals within the company for each individual team member of Black Knight is something I always feel is important to ask.
For Mark his short term goal is-
“Just getting the job done the best I can, repairs, rodent, and anything else.”
As far as long term-
“ I believe long term builds for good daily execution. If we (Black Knight Crew) do a good job on your home, you will tell other people, they will in turn tell more people, and word will spread. This is always why I do so many videos about the pests that we encounter. If someone does have a problem, maybe they will understand why it’s important to get it taken care of properly, before it becomes a bigger problem by watching one of my videos.
Lastly, I asked Mark to tell me a little about himself.
“I enjoy playing volleyball, the beach, trips to the desert, and time with friends and family. My wife Megan, and daughter Amaya, are my favorite people. Professionally, I strive to always get the work done right the first time. Customer satisfaction is important to me.”
