Gopher Problems
First things first, identify the problem. Are you starting to see the dreaded dirt hills pop up throughout your beautiful well maintained landscaped lawn? Gophers or moles could be the culprit. Gophers usually have their entrance hole to the side of the hill and sometimes will be left uncovered. Moles tend to have their hole directly on top of the mound. A single gopher on its own can produce 10-30 mounds a month! They will chew through almost any thing they encounter while digging their tunnels this includes irrigation, utility and phone lines. The damage they can cause to the lines could turn out to be extremely costly. Also, they are known to be extremely aggressive in consuming tree roots to the point that the tree can no longer be supported. A tree with little or no support could cause bodily injury to a loved one or other major damage to the property and what ever else may be around. At the very least gopher's leave you with an eye sore for a lawn.
How does Black Knight treat for gophers? There are two different baits that we use depending on the recommendation given by the professional and also the needs of the property owner. The bait is applied with a probe that is dispensed directly into the gopher's hole, the gopher will then eat it and expire in the hole.
Black Knight Termite and Pest Control was at a home in Hemet, California and came across some damage that a gopher had caused. The gopher had taken its dirt mounds and been disturbing the foundation under the home, causing major damage to the property.
